Brown Jordan Furniture

Three words that Brown Jordan used to introduce their furniture are "timeless, essential and elegant". Truly, these speak for their range of furniture. Since their establishment in 1945 by Robert Brown and Hubert Jordan, they have been designing furniture and accessories for luxury and leisure. In fact, they were the first to introduce this industry to the concept of making furniture specifically for outdoor purposes. They are famous for offering innovative designs of superior quality using efficient production methods to create their strong portfolio.

Their initial designs were made of tubular aluminium and vinyl lace and were sold as their "Leisure" range. Today, they have over 30 collections of designs and styles with handmade or machine crafted options to choose from to suit all types of decors e.g. contemporary, traditional or a mix of both. Their furnishings are woven, or of stainless steel, teak, aluminium, vinyl or fabric.

Brown Jordan's Winston range has casual but contemporary outdoor furniture. The Vineyard range is more classical and boasts of traditional styles in woven fabrics. Another traditional style range is the Molla line in cast aluminium. The Trade winds collection uses wrought iron as the base material.

One of their biggest hits is the Quantum Collection. Brought to market in 1982 this modern range is similar to the Alvar Aalto. Richard Frinier's collections Streamline and Fusion Collections are also popular. To make some of their range lower priced and affordable to all, Brown Jordan sells their Casual Living range to Sears and Wal-Mart.

In 2009, Brown Jordan reissued the famous Walter Lamb iconic outdoor furniture range. This range made of metal tube and cotton rope was initially designed for the company called El Monte in 1947. Misleading in name, this Bronze collection is actually made of brass. When brass oxidizes, it gives a copperish tint and hence the miscoined name. In Brown Jordan's range, new steel is used to support and strengthen the frames and cotton rope has been charmingly replaced by durable nylon polyester. This is an eight-piece collection with chairs and table, lounge chairs, ottoman and chaise. For those who do not like the bronze tint, a helpful tip is to use a Scotch Brite to rub off the patina.

Year on year Brown Jordan have been presenting their valuable customers with new innovations and original, stylish designs that blend seamlessly into all sorts of home d?cor and pocket.
